Market Drayton markets are full of festive crafts, gifts ideas and delicious fresh produce and, this year, the markets are open on Christmas Eve for last minute gift buying and food for the big day.

Food stalls in the Indoor Market will also be open on New Year’s Eve.

Stock up for your Christmas feast with fresh produce, artisan cheeses, award-winning butchers’ meats, gourmet chocolates and homemade cakes and bakes. Locally sourced and locally made, the market’s food stalls add local flavour to your celebration table.

And on Christmas Eve Rosie’s Kitchen and Bakery, in the Indoor Market, plans to serve up a festive breakfast and lunch menu as well as mulled wine. Tuck into hot festive baps, loaded roast potatoes, pigs in blankets, cranberry stuffing and turkey gravy. And on their bakery counter you’ll find a line-up of festive savouries and sweet bakes from lovely sausage rolls to mini Christmas cakes.

The historic street market runs along Cheshire Street every Wednesday, 9 am – 3 pm, with a lively stall line-up of fresh produce, gifts, homewares and more.

This Christmas Eve Latham’s Fruit & Veg will be packed full of all the quality fruit and veg you could need, from your freshly cut sprout trees and parsnips to specialities such as chestnuts and medjool dates.

Love Cheese will be bringing a delicious line-up of local artisanal cheeses from Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire, as well as local jams and chutneys – many infused with the flavours of the season.

Artisan jewellery-maker Lovehearts and Daisies will be back with their stylish range of handcrafted silver jewellery – from rings and necklaces to bracelets and bangles

The Battery Stall will be on hand too to supply all the batteries you could need for Christmas, as well as silver foil big enough for the turkey, matches to light your festive candles and some last-minute gift ideas from watches to wallets.

And if you’re looking for Staffordshire pottery or rugs to warm your home, regulars the pottery stall and Bond Rugs will be in their usual spots.

For stylish women’s winter outfits – from fashionable faux fur coats to cosy knits and Italian-made garments – look no further than Simon Frankham’s popular clothing stalls on the street market and Off The Peg in the Indoor Market. The quality is very good and it’s amazing what you can find!

The Indoor Market, sandwiched between Cheshire Street and Frogmore Road, opens every Wednesday and Saturday, 9 am – 3 pm, with a diverse collection of stalls offering everything from artisan foods to handcrafted decorations, gifts and quality clothing.

The award-winning Shepley’s Butchers will be opening their butchers and deli stalls, in the indoor market, from 7am on Christmas Eve, for customers to collect food orders and essential Christmas fayre from pigs in blankets and sausage meat for stuffing to speciality cheeses and more.

Shepley’s are especially known for their delicious homemade sausages – they’ve won big awards for them – and there is a varied range of flavours to try. Especially seasonal is their cranberry and rosemary sausage, perfect for a traditional cooked breakfast on Christmas morning.

Tinsley’s greengrocers, outside the market, will be packed with fruit and veg They also have a range of fresh wreaths for sale at a good price.
