People who enjoy live acoustic music are being invited to a new monthly music session launching at the Festival Drayton Centre.
Organised by local musician Martin, the sessions aim to bring together people who enjoy playing acoustic instruments, singing or simply listening in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
Unlike many music nights, there will be no amplification or loudspeakers, creating a traditional folk club atmosphere where acoustic music can be enjoyed as it was intended.
The sessions are open to musicians of all abilities as well as anyone who simply enjoys listening to live music.
Market Drayton has relatively few regular acoustic music sessions, with many existing events taking place in local pubs on Tuesdays and Thursdays. By holding these sessions on a Wednesday evening at the Festival Drayton Centre, the organiser hopes to provide an alternative venue that is accessible to a wider range of people, including those looking for a non-alcohol-focused evening out.
The Festival Drayton Centre has space for up to 20 people, helping to create a friendly and informal atmosphere where performers and listeners alike can enjoy an evening of live music.
The first session takes place on Wednesday 15 July from 7pm to 9pm at the Festival Drayton Centre, Frogmore Road, Market Drayton.
