Market Drayton Army Cadets offers exciting, free activities and skills training for young people aged 12 to 18 (must be in Year 8 if aged 12). Based at the Cadet Centre in Tern Hill, the Cadets meet every Monday and Wednesday evening from 7pm to 9pm. Cadets take part in military-based training such as fieldcraft, drill and turnout, rifle and cane drill, map reading, command tasks, and skill at arms. In addition, they enjoy adventure activities like abseiling, canoeing, rock climbing, mountain biking, football, swimming, rafting, first aid, athletics, adventure training and sailing. Uniforms are provided free of charge, and all training is fun, structured, and completely free. With access to 22 detachments, a military band, three BTEC qualifications in Public Services, and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award up to Gold level, Market Drayton Army Cadets offers a fantastic opportunity for personal development.
