On Tuesday 30th September, over 30 representatives from local businesses came together at The Brewers Hall in The Stag for a relaxed evening of networking, hosted by Make it Market Drayton.

The event was opened by Mayor Cllr Tim Manton, who was joined by Cllr Phil Glover and Cllr Ian Nellins in welcoming local business owners, freelancers, and community representatives.

Attendees enjoyed the chance to share what they do, exchange ideas, and discuss the positives of running a business in Market Drayton. The evening also provided a platform to explore how Make it Market Drayton can support businesses with free training, digital media workshops, and opportunities for free marketing across its platforms.

Business Networking at The Stag – A Night of Connections in Market DraytonHighlights of the evening included hearing about the exciting developments at Joules Brewery, as well as future plans for the town. There was also strong interest in the importance of cyber security, with many businesses keen to find out how they can protect themselves online and access the free training and support on offer.

These digital media workshops will be delivered by professional experts at Make it Market Drayton and are funded by Market Drayton Town Council. Priority to be given to local businesses that attend networking events and other businesses and charities may book using the links above if there are places left.  The workshops are limited to 12 spaces in order to provide one-to-one assistance.

Attendees were also invited to share the kind of training and support they would like going forward into 2026, ensuring the programme continues to reflect the real needs of local traders and entrepreneurs.

It was a warm, sociable evening where conversations flowed easily over a drink, with connections made and collaborations sparked.
