If you or someone you know struggles with reading, you’re not alone — and help is at hand. Read Easy Telford and Shropshire East offers free, confidential, one-to-one coaching to adults who want to learn to read or improve their reading skills.
The scheme is open to anyone over the age of 18, and it’s completely volunteer-run by people who are passionate about helping others gain the confidence and ability to read. Whether it’s reading a bus timetable, understanding a medical form or simply enjoying a good book, improved reading skills can transform lives — and Read Easy makes that journey possible, at your own pace and without judgement.
Each new reader is matched with a trained coach, who will meet with them twice a week for 30 minutes, in a local public space such as a library or café. Coaches are fully trained, DBS checked, and there to support learners every step of the way.
No pressure. No classrooms. Just one-to-one support when and where it works for you.

Can You Help Someone Learn to Read?
Read Easy is also looking for new volunteers in the Market Drayton area — either as reading coaches or as part of their local Management Team. No previous experience is needed, as full training and ongoing support are provided.
