1. Rosehill Carp Fishery (Tyrley Road, Market Drayton)
Just outside town, Rosehill offers a scenic 7-acre carp lake, with both day and night fishing available. It’s popular with experienced anglers and newcomers alike. Booking in advance is recommended.
2. Tern Fisheries (Hales, near Market Drayton)
This well-established fishery has three lakes suitable for coarse fishing, including carp, bream, roach, and tench. Open to day ticket anglers.
3. Colehurst Lake – Fishing Experiences
Want to learn how to fish? Colehurst offers calm waters and tailored experiences for beginners, making it a brilliant family-friendly introduction to angling.
4. Shropshire Union Canal (Market Drayton stretch)
You can fish along certain stretches of the canal, including near bridge 53 at Betton. However, a valid rod licence is required, and some stretches are managed by local clubs such as Hodnet Angling Club. Always check permissions before fishing.
