Every Saturday afternoon, the clubhouse at Salisbury Hill View (TF9 1DW) becomes a bright and welcoming place full of laughter, music and friendship. This is where Market Drayton Mencap, a local club for adults with learning disabilities, meets from 2:00–4:00 pm to enjoy a fun and supportive social space.
With over 30 members from Market Drayton and surrounding areas—including Norton in Hales—the club offers a chance for people to come together, make friends, and develop social and personal skills in a relaxed and friendly environment.
What Happens at the Club?
The Saturday sessions are packed with a range of activities that members love, including:
-
Bingo afternoons (very popular!)
-
Quizzes
-
Boccia
-
“Play Your Cards Right” (also very popular!)
-
Discos
-
Song and Dance events
-
Arts and crafts sessions
There is always something happening, and the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of fun.
A Call for Volunteers
Market Drayton Mencap is currently desperately seeking more volunteer helpers to support the club and help run the afternoon sessions.
If you have a few hours to spare and would like to make a real difference in your community, they would love to meet you.
You can simply turn up on any Saturday afternoon, enjoy a cup of tea, and see what the club is all about—no booking required.
